Transformer DC resistance testing is essential during various stages of transformer manufacturing and maintenance, including factory testing of semi-finished and finished products, installation, overhaul, tap changer replacement, handover testing, and preventive maintenance in the power sector. This test helps evaluate the welding quality of winding joints, detect short circuits between turns, and verify the functionality of the voltage tap changer contacts. It also checks the alignment of the actual tap changer position with the indicated position, the integrity of lead wires, and the condition of multi-strand wires, including the detection of any breaks in the strands.The tester is controlled by a high-speed microprocessor, ensuring high automation with functions such as automatic discharge and discharge alarms. Safety and Operational Instructions

1.Inductive Load Measurement

When measuring an inductive load, do not remove the test leads directly to avoid safety risks from inductive discharge. The instrument is equipped with a discharge circuit. After resetting the instrument, the inductor will release energy through the device. Only remove the test leads once the discharge indication is complete.

2.No-Load Voltage-Regulating Transformers

For no-load voltage-regulating transformers, do not switch the tap changer during measurement.

3.Power Supply Interruption

If the power supply is suddenly cut off during the measurement process, the instrument will automatically begin discharging. Do not remove the wiring immediately; wait at least 30 seconds before disconnecting the test leads.

4.Avoid Short-Circuiting Other Windings

During measurement, do not short-circuit or ground untested windings. Doing so may slow down the transformer magnetization process, extend the time for data stabilization, or lead to incorrect readings.

5.Battery Maintenance

If the instrument is not used for extended periods, charge the battery at least once a month to ensure proper functioning.

6.Keep the Test Area Clear

Do not stack unrelated items on or around the equipment panel during testing to avoid interference or potential damage.

7.Avoid Moisture and Oil Pollution

Ensure the instrument is kept dry and free from oil contamination to maintain optimal performance.

8.Current Selection

When selecting the current, refer to the range specified in the technical specifications. If the current exceeds the range, the instrument will remain in a "charging" state because the current cannot reach the preset value. At this point, press the reset button to reset the instrument, select an appropriate current range, or switch to the AUTO mode.
